Conference Programme

LiftEx Regional Australia will feature exciting talks on the latest thinking, advice and expert opinion from the industry. 

 

Day 1 will feature an amazing line-up of speakers presenting a vision of how the Lifting Industry will look in the next 10 years, focussing on advanced technologies and AI, mindset and resilience, sustainability, engaging the future workforce, and much more.

 

Day 2 will include a MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT from LEEA that will deliver on something Association members have been requesting for a long time, and promises to change the landscape for them and technicians into the future. Those in the room will have privileged first access to this news, giving them a chance to gain a head start over competitors.

Alison Earl is a mindset and behaviour expert with a core focus on empowering people to take control of their personal experience of change, uncertainty and stress, and ultimately, to thrive.
For over 15 years, she has studied human behaviour and motivation; she is a repeat guest lecturer in Behavioural Economics at the Harvard School of Public Health;
she is a Positive Psychology Practitioner; she has helped build new business from the ground up in Sydney, London and New York; and has worked with people and companies in over 20 countries.

Coming out of COVID the pressure has been on. We’re asking our people to do more, quicker. The power of mindset to adapt readily and overcome the burnout epidemic is something we must address. Recognized as both strategic and practical with a focus on commercial outcomes, Brett provides leadership and advice within Cowell Clarke’s corporate and commercial transactions teams. He advises clients particularly in the digital and technology, defence and advanced manufacturing sectors on a national and international scale. He assists clients doing business internationally, engaging especially with the USA, UK, EU and APAC.
Brett is passionate about new frontiers in science and technology.
Brett is also a non-executive director of several companies, an author of multiple publications and a speaker at national and international forums.

Charles Brass is a futurist which means he works with people and with organisations to help them explore the sort of world in which they would like to live and work, and what might need to be done to create that world.
Charles is the chairman of Australia’s premier futures organization – the futures foundation – which anyone with an interest in creating Australia’s future is able to join.
The futures foundation helps governments, corporations, communities and individuals use a variety of futures tools and techniques to explore, and then create probable, possible and preferred futures.
Charles has had four careers in his 60+ years – from small business entrepreneur, to school teacher, corporate executive and finally now futurist. His qualifications include an honours science degree, various educational qualifications, an MBA and a Master of Strategic Foresight.

Rose Read - Director, Product Stewardship Centre of Excellence

Rose has a wealth of experience in product stewardship, natural resources, and environmental management. Delivering practical sustainability solutions in collaboration with industry, government, and the community.

This includes running and developing numerous product stewardship initiatives such as
• MobileMuster, the mobile phone industry’s recycling program;
• a National Television and Computer Recycling Scheme co-regulatory arrangement; and
• Chairing the Queensland Government’s Battery Industry Working Group that established the Battery Stewardship Council and subsequently B-Cycle.

Prior to this she was General Manager of Clean Up Australia and Clean Up the World. She has also been the CEO for the National Waste and Recycling Industry Council and worked for the Murray Darling Basin Commission and NSW Government. She is also currently an Adjunct Professor at the UTS Institute for Sustainable Futures.

The lifting industry has some great advocates for recycling – we have some good news stories to tell. However, we need to do more. Accelerating the uptake of product stewardship in Australia, Rose will discuss new thinking in the recycling and re-use space. The Product Stewardship Centre of Excellence is assisting major firms and industries address waste challenges, through mentoring, educating and activating stakeholders across product and material supply chains.
